Just in time ready: NPO as a solid foundation for 4training.net and the app!

Google Developer Account Migration finished just before the deadline

Building a solid foundation for a growing work is so important - but also quite some work...

4training.net started really small almost 10 years ago. As an answer to the need for high-quality training resources in people's heart languages on what it means to follow the example of Jesus. And one principle was clear from the beginning as Jesus said: "Freely you have received, freely give!": No copyright (CC0: Creative Commons Zero) - people must be able to use, copy and multiply everything without restrictions!
Over the years there was no real budget. But step by step we added more worksheets, tested and evaluated and improved the quality of the training resources. People experienced them, found them useful and translated them into their own languages. It became more than 40 languages! (back in the days before good machine translations...)

The project grew a lot by the help of all these volunteers. However the foundation remained small. Too small.
To the point that the website went offline for a day or so when there were hosting issues because there was nobody to respond and solve the problem. Almost no progress anymore.
Thanks God the story doesn't end here. At least the website stayed online. And then slowly progress started backstage:
Bringing repositories to github, updating infrastructure, ...
Then progress at the outside: Going mobile and providing the resources as an offline app!
But still the foundation for everything was small.
So finally in 2023 the clarity: We need to found an NPO!
Half a year went by with discouraging feedback from the German tax office regarding the non-profit status of our constitution. But in June we finally made the step and gathered to officially found "4training.net e.V."
Four month later we're operational, officially approved and with a bank account to receive donations 😊

And just in time to migrate the Google Developer account from a personal account to an organizational account! Now we have a stable basis for the app and all what we need to publish to iOS as well (before the end of the year). 🙌
